Residency Requirements for Indefinite Stay

To qualify for Stamp 5 (without condition as to time permission), an applicant must meet the following continuous residency requirements:

Key Residency Criteria

✔️ Minimum Residency Period: The applicant must have legally resided in Ireland for 96 months (eight years).
✔️ Continuous Stay: The applicant must live in the State for the entire period covered by their permission.
✔️ Permitted Absences: Reasonable absences for holidays, family emergencies, or work-related travel are allowed.
✔️ Absence Limit: Absences must not exceed four months per year for the purpose of obtaining indefinite residency.

Failure to meet the continuous residency requirements may impact an applicant’s eligibility for Stamp 5 approval.
